Terms of Service
Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE] · [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HomeWeal (the "Service"), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
HomeWeal is a household bill-and-expense tracker. You enter your own bills, payments and related records; the Service helps you organize and review them. We do not connect to bank accounts and provide no financial, tax, or investment advice.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. One person may not register the reserved administrator identity.
4. Subscriptions & billing
Paid plans (Pro and Family) are billed through PayPal on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Subscriptions or your PayPal account; access to paid features continues until the end of the current paid period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy (30-day money-back guarantee). Plan limits (for example, the free Solo plan's bill limit) are described on the pricing page and may change prospectively; we honor the price you subscribed at while you remain continuously subscribed.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempts to breach security or access other households' data, no interference with the Service's operation, and no reverse-engineering except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
6. Your content
The data you enter is yours. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you (storing, processing and displaying your data). We claim no ownership of it, and you can export it to CSV at any time. Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and you are responsible for keeping your own records.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the [LIABILITY CAP PERIOD — e.g. the prior 12 months]. [Confirm this clause and any consumer-law carve-outs for your jurisdiction before going live.]
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. On termination you may export your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms; we'll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING-LAW JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict- of-law rules. [Confirm the governing-law and dispute-resolution clause with a professional.]
